General Secretary Xi Jinping has repeatedly planned and directed the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, emphasizing the need to "make the Yangtze River Economic Belt the main battlefield for ecological priority and green development in China, smooth the domestic and international dual circulation arteries, and lead the main force for high-quality economic development." The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and the People's Government of Hubei Province signed a memorandum of cooperation on accelerating the green and intelligent development of inland ships, with the goal of promoting the green, intelligent, and standardized development of inland ships, focusing on the development of LNG powered, battery powered, and new energy clean energy standardized ship types such as methanol, and driving the green and intelligent transformation and upgrading of inland ships in the Yangtze River.
